Great Glasses (2010-05-14)
Bought these for my 3.5 month old daughter as we needed eye protection while skiing on sunny days. Band was a bit too big, but just strapped them over her hat (they now fit at 5.5 months). They fit and stay in place well (when wearing her in the front carrier alone, I bring a small compact mirror to check and re-adjust). She doesn't mind them too much- although we wear them at least once a day while outside just to keep her use to the feeling of glasses. I think part of the success of not having her remove them is first using them in a situation where the benefit of the polarization of the glass would make her more comfortable.

Makes car rides tolerable (2010-05-07)
My kid HATES the sun and I have tried everything to keep it off of him in the car seat. Unfortunately, it's just about impossible to do that without buying some kind of vehicle that doesn't have rear windows. He screams when bright sun gets in his face. But sometimes he doesn't like the glasses being on him either and will still cry. He seems to be doing better with them the more he wears them. I'll take some crying over screaming like he's in pain and at least these are protecting his baby eyes, but either way I feel awful on a daily basis for taking him to and from daycare.

The band is a tiny bit large for my baby (started wearing these when he was 2 months old and his head circumference is right at the 50th percentile) but he's growing into them better now. The actual shades seem to fit his face well and comfortably (although he may disagree with my from time to time). And I do have to be careful that he doesn't rub the band against his car seat while turning his head and cause the glasses to shift... the silicone nose piece helps to prevent this, but if I had to take him on a longer car ride by myself, I'd probably stop if he got fussy to check (it's hard to tell even with a mirror while driving).

But people do love seeing my little man in these and everyone remarks about how cute he is and they do look pretty good on him. I'm hoping that starting young will create a healthy habit of protecting his eyes for the rest of his life.
